Our Story

Secure Seniorz was founded with a simple but powerful mission: to protect seniors from the devastating impact of financial fraud and scams that target our most vulnerable community members.

Our commitment to this cause became deeply personal when one of our co-founders experienced the heartbreak of elder fraud firsthand. A couple of years ago, his grandmother received a phone call from someone claiming to be a sheriff's officer, saying his cousin had been in a car accident and injured another driver, and that $7,000 in bail money was needed immediately to keep him out of jail.

The caller spoke with authority and even put a shaky, tearful voice on the line pretending to be his cousin. Panicked and wanting to help her grandson, she withdrew the cash, read the bill serial numbers over the phone, and sent the money through a Bitcoin ATM at a nearby store, believing she was helping him. By the time his mom called later that day, the money was gone, and police confirmed it was a "grandparent scam."

This devastating experience opened our eyes to how criminals impersonate loved ones or officials, pressure victims to act quickly, and demand payment through irreversible methods like cryptocurrency, cash, or gift cards. It reinforced our determination to educate and protect other families from experiencing this same heartbreak.

Recognizing that seniors are disproportionately targeted by scammers, we set out to create comprehensive educational programs that would empower older adults with the knowledge and tools they need to stay safe. Our approach combines expert knowledge in cybersecurity and financial protection with a deep understanding of the unique challenges that seniors face in today's digital world.

We're committed to building safer communities where seniors can enjoy their retirement years without fear of financial exploitation or fraud, ensuring that no other family has to endure what ours did.
